  • Bryan McAllister

    Bryan McAllister is a composer and keyboardist based in Sacramento, CA. His compositions draw influence from diverse sources, from the leitmotifs of Wagner operas to post-hardcore stylings of Glassjaw. Bryan realizes these compositions with his various modern jazz ensembles, balancing minimalist counterpoint textures with soaring melodies and anthemic improvised solos.

    Max Case is a guitarist and composer based in Brooklyn, NY. His music draws from a diverse range of sources that include jazz, folk, rock, americana, and classical music, while maintaining an emphasis on strong songwriting and structure. Most of all, he takes inspiration from the natural landscapes of his home state of Nevada, as well as from the talented musicians he’s been lucky to play with and learn from.

    Sean Alexander Collins is a multi-instrumentalist and music teacher based in San Luis Obispo, California.

    An enthusiastic performer and avid improviser, Sean's compositions and collaborations are thoughtful, enriching and stimulating.

  • Surplus

    Surplus is a modern organ quartet originally formed in Reno, NV, now residing across three states and two continents.

    The group leads collectively: all of the members write original compositions for the band, and the cooperative nature extends to the band’s sound as well, as all of the members take turns leading the group through musical moments across their diverse catalogue of original music.

  • Zack Teran

    Bassist, composer, producer, and instructor Zachary Teran lives in the Reno/Tahoe area, where he graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz and Improvisational Music. While in the Northern Nevada area he had the opportunity to study and play with the likes of Peter Epstein, David Ake, Hans Halt, Drew Gress, Ben Wendel, Esperanza Spalding, Ben Street, along with other notable jazz figures. After graduating, he moved to Boulder, Colorado where he quickly became a contributing force in the local jazz community. During his time in Colorado, Zack was fortunate enough to be able to play with Art Lande, whom he could eventually call a friend and mentor.
